We had this dessert wine at Steve's Aglianico tasting Tues:
1. Lagier-Meredith Precious Bane MtVeeder/NapaVlly Dessert Wine (18.5%; 100% Syrah; SaH: 28 Brix; RS: 7.5%; 50 cs; Frmntion arrested w/ neutral grape spirits) 2010: Very dar/near black color w/ some bricking; some fumey/alcoholic/spirity/Port-like very intense blackberry/boysenberry/Syrah/licorice/plummy slight late hrvsty/raisened very ripe quite complex beautiful nose; soft some alcoholic/spirty intense quite sweetboysenberry/blackberry/Syrah/late hrvsty/licorice quite complex flavor w/ light ripe tannins; very long/lingering some spirity/alcoholic intense boysenberry/blackberrry/Syrah/late hrvsty/licorice quite sweet finish w/ slight ripe tannins; still quite young & a bit tannic; still loads of ripe Syrah fruit & not turning raiseny/pruney; an outstanding expression of Port that will outlast all of us. $48.00

A wee BloodyPulpit:
1. This is a Syrah Port that Steve made in 2010 & 2014. Time to make another one. Named after Carole's great aunt Mary Webb's 1924 novel of that same name. This is still a very youthful expression of a Calif Port.
