Tried these new Bedrocks last night:
1. Bedrock SauvBlanc SonomaVlly/SonomaCnty (14.1%) 2021: Light gold color; lovely ripe/melony/SB/lightly herbal rather floral (Musque?) spicy slight chalky quite perfumed nose; quite tart/tangy/slight steely slightly rich strong ripe/melony/SB/bit herbal lightly chalky/steely bit austere brisk/bracing flavor; long tart/crisp/tangy ripe melony/SB/slight herbal lightly floral/Musque bit steely/stony finish; a very attractive ripe SB, probably Musque, that will surely put on weight over the next yr & go out 4-6 yrs; somewhat Bdx in style; not as rich as previous ones right now; quite a lovely SB for the price. $24.00

A wee BloodyPulpit:
1. This SauvBlanc landed on my doorstep just a few hrs earlier, but I had to try it. Probably a bit beaten up by the truck ride it had been on. The Bedrock SauvBlancs (along w/ DryCreekVnyds) are some of my favorite SauvBlancs. Their Staves of Waidhofen is easily my favorite. I think this SB needs a few months to settle down & will undoubtedly put on weight over the next yr.

2. Ystrday was Denise Esola's BD, so decided to open an Esola from the last Fall Bedrock shipment to celebrate.
I have followed the Esola Zins of CarnerosCreek/Mt.Veeder, and Ridge from the mid-'70's. Those were classic big/ripe Amador Zins w/ lots of alcohol. I was delighted when Morgan started making Esola Zin again a few yrs ago & return the vnyd's name to its former glory.
This Esola is loaded w/ classic briary Zin ShenandoahVlly fruit. In fact, if you put your ear down close to the glass, you can hear the tar-encrusted BrerRabbit pleading to BrerFox..."puleeze/pleeze don't throw me in that briar patch". Which, of course, BrerFox immediately does & than is mortified when BrerRabbit goes running away laughing his head off. Probably not politically correct to relate this story on a WineBoard.
