- 2002 Bollinger Champagne La Grande Année Rosé - France, Champagne (3/19/2022)
Last bottle, and probably a good thing, as it was significantly more advanced than a bottle last year (same source, same pristine storage), so perhaps starting it’s slide into old wine phase. Still showed some fruit, but a touch oxidative, and very vinous on the finish. I drink Rosé Champagne for the pure joy of it, and this was more intellectual than I prefer. Still a good wine, and Laura enjoyed it as well, but it didn’t thrill either of us.
