Tried this older German down at Pig+Fig Sat night:
1. Weingut St.Urbans-hof OckfenerBockstein Riesling Kabinett Mosel/Saar/Ruwer (9.0%; Gutsabfullung; QmP; A.P.Nr. 3 529 290 012 07; R.ShackSlctns; HB Wine Merchants/NY) Leiwen 2006: Dark gold/rather brown color; some earthy/oldR/musky/dusty no botrytis some complex bit oxidative fairly interesting nose; quite tart/tangy totally dry strong oldR/some oxidative rather earthy complex fairly austere flavor; very long/lingering totally dry/rather austere dusty/earthy/oldR/rather oxidative complex finish; a rather interesting expression of oldRiesling but not going to improve that I can forsee.

1. This was a rather interesting expression of old German Riesling, somewhat oxidative, rather hard/austere. No fruit left to speak of. No signs whatsoever of petrol/Mosel valve oil that I could identify....just an old, but not tired, R.
