WTN: Fanfarria for the Common Man

  • 2018 Dominio del Urogallo La Fanfarria - Spain, Asturias, Vino de la Tierra de Cangas (3/8/2022)
Bar pour before dinner last night from a freshly opened bottle.

Overall an easygoing, and pleasant wine with fresh red fruit, light/medium weight, and good depth of flavor. There wasn't anything particularly distinctive, but it was very nicely proportioned and would have been a nice accompaniment to food. Seems to be available for $15-$20, which would be decent pricing. If I was in the market for more daily drinkers I would be happy with this.

I had to look to see where Asturias is. Do you know the grapes? Asturias is next to Galicia, so wondering if Mencia, but so many native grapes in Spain,.

It's mostly Mencia.
