Cracked this last night:
1. Boheme Syrah OccidentalHills/SonomaCoast (13.3%; www.BohemeWines.com) KurtBeitlerWines/Rutherford 2012: Dark color w/ some bricking; very strong c-c/black pepper some w-c/Rhonish/smokey/roasted some blackberry/Syrah/rather spicy quite complex nose; fairly tart/tangy/bit metallic/drying strong c-c/black pepper rather w-c/Rhonish/smokey some toasty/smokey/oak some blackberry/Syrah spicy fairly complex flavor w/ light drying tannins; very long/lingering strong c-c/pepper/w-c/Rhonish some blackberry/Syrah complex finish; a beautiful Rhonish/c-c Syrah that's probably a bit beyond its peak & starting to turn the corner, but still has plenty of Syrah fruit in there.

1. A beautiful fully-mature Syrah & then some, but probably starting to dry out a bit & in its decline. Not sure the source of these grapes but seem to recall it was the last of the QueSyrah grapes & maybe the first of his EnglishHill Syrah grapes. Kurt is the nephew of ChuckieWagner (he planted their pergola-trained BellGlos vnyd of PinotNoir on TaylorRidge road) and he was makking his wine at the Caymus Wnry in those early yrs.
