Cracked these three last night for Susan's BD dinner:
1. Fedellos do Couto Conasbrancas Apresenta (12.5%; 60-80 yr old vines; Godello/DonaBlanca/Alharino/Treixadura/Lado/Torrontes; 30% direct press; 40days skin-contact; EricSolomanSlctns) Taboada/CastroCaldelas/Espana 2016: Med.dark gold/burnished bronze color; rather phenolic/resiny/ViniMacerati some apple/pear/floral bit earthy/dusty/OV slight nutty/oxidative/leesy fairly complex nose; fairly tart/tangy bit tannic/bitter slight nutty/ocidative/leesy some VM/phenolic/resiny some earthy/coarse/bit rustic somewhat interesting/complex flavor; very long rather tart/tangy/bit tannic some oxidative/leesy/nutty fairly VM/phenolic/resiny slight apple/pear some earthy/dusty/OV rather interesting/complex finish w/ slight bitter tannins; a rather interesting skin-contact white that shows a bit of fruit but not as VM/phenolic as you'd expect for 40 days skin-contact; overnight the fruit pretty much disappeared leaving only the VM character. $29.50 (KK)

Dr.H.Thanisch Riesling Estate/Mosel (Q; Feinherb; A.P.Nr. 2 576 742 01 14; 12.5%) Bernkastel-Kues 2012:Med.dark gold color w/ some tiny bubbles; beautiful Mosel valve oil/petrol/gout de petrol/some pungent some R/pineapple/mango very complex quite aromatic/perfumed nose; some tart/tangy very near dry very rich/lush strong R/floral/mango very strong pungent/Mosel valve oil/gout de petrol quite complex flavor; very long/lingering strong Mosel valve oil some R/mango very complex finish; a beautiful complex Mosel R at a stupid/silly price & should continue to improve. $18.00 (KK)

Dom.Sauvete LesGravonilles AC: Touraine/LoireVlly (14.5%; NortyhBerkeleyImprts; 100% Gamay; www.Domaine-Sauvete.com) Monthou sur Cher/Loire 2020: Very dark color; very rich/lush strong herbal/thyme/Gamay some earthy/dusty/OV slight pencilly/oak fairly intense nose more like CabFranc than Gamay; lightly tart strong/rich/herbal/thyme/Gamay rather dusty/OV/earthy/loamy bit structured some complex flavor w/ some ripe/chewey tannins; very long/lingering rich/ripe fairly earthy/dusty/loamy/OV some herbal/thyme; doesn't have a lot of Gamay grapiness & resembles a CabFranc than anything; unusually rich/lush for a Loire red; great price at $17.00 (PrimaIlC)
