Well patience pays off. Popped and poured because another wine seriously underperformed, this was on point from the first sip. Dusty, leathery, spicy and filled with red fruit, it was about as good as this bottling has ever been. Still some tannin lurking around the edges, and with the strong fruit there’s time in hand. This is at an inflection point, and further development will likely be more in the dusty, herbal, leather areas, adding further complexity to what is already an interesting wine.
