First point is thank God this is in a screwcapped Riesling flute!
Oh yeah, the wine…
Immediately aromatic, with yellow fruit, a bit of Chenin-like lanolin and a deep, saline minerality, this is really quite stunning. Bracing acidity, white peach and yellow plum fruit, and then that saline element comes back on the finish. What’s surprising is how mouth filling it is for such a bright wine. At first blush I might think Austria. Delicious now, but more than sufficient stuffing for a mid-term sleep. So happy to have come back to this bottling after 7 vintages away. Bye, bye bocksbeutel!
