2015 Calera Pinot Noir Mills Vineyard Mount Harlan
Has softened in color and impact since two years ago, adding harmonious savory qualities and tomato skin to the basket of red fruits and spice. Perfectly matched with rack of lamb and wilted celery with mint.

Only ever had a few Calera wines, and I am pretty sure some were compromised. Never got a chance to go back to the well.

So many wines, so little time and all that. Very understandable. I might not have either but for the fact that a guest showed up with one that wowwed us all and an easy deal fell into my lap a few weeks later. I am sure we've discussed this before, but they went through a strange phase that turned a lot of us early fans off. Whatever that was, it's over now. The wines are good.

So guess what our host opened tonight…a 2013 Calera. Delicious.
