Tried these two the other night:
1. OjaiVnyds Syrah Verna'sVnyd/SBC (14.5%) 2004: Dark color w/ some bricking; some blackberry/boysenberry/Syrah/slight SBC/peppery fairly toasty/oak rather cedary/pencilly/oldRed slightly tired slight c-c/black pepper some complex nose; soft some cedary/pencilly/oldRed some blackberry/Syrah/SBC peppery slight black olive bit tired some complex finish w/ light astringent tannins; long some tired/astringent rather cedary/pencilly/oldRed finish w/ light tannins; still some interesting old SBC Syrah things in there but rather on the tired side.

2. Jaffurs Syrah ThompsonVnyd/SBC (14.5%) 2001: Dark color w/ some bricking; rather musty/fusty some blackberry/Syrah/spicy/peppery rather cedary/pencilly/oldRed some toasty/oak bit c-c/black pepper bit complex nose; some tart rather cedsary/pencilly/oldRed bit Syrah/blackberry/peppery some toasty/oak bit complex flavor w/ some drying/tired tannins; still some interesting things but rather on the tired/dried-out side.

1. Was expecting a bit more from these Syrahs from two of my favorite producers, but they just didn't have a whole lot left.
