- 1985 Fonseca Porto Vintage - Portugal, Douro, Porto (1/22/2022)
Decanted off the sediment for six hours before returning it back to the bottle.
Still youthful in color, with deep purple color that faded to pink at the rim. No evidence of orange/brown. Deep plum aroma and flavor, with spice accents and just a touch of lifted acidity. Alcohol completely integrated, so it’s too easy to drink. Overall I am most impressed at how the wine combines depth as well as elegance. It never felt heavy despite being such a full bodied wine. I love this vintage from this producer, and this bottle just reinforced the feelings. Seems like it could live forever.
