- 2002 Weingut Johannishof (H.H. Eser) Rüdesheimer Berg Rottland Riesling Spätlese - Germany, Rheingau (1/9/2022)
Opened to serve with a sweet potato and lentil red curry, and the match was on point. The sweetness of the wine balanced the moderate heat of the curry, and the honey drizzled peach flavors of the wine were in harmony with the sweet potato. Air brought out notes of candied ginger and sassafras, both adding further complements to the food. It was truly a plus two match, where the food and the wine elevated each other.
