Tried these two orange wines last night w/ Susan:
1. Gerard Bertrand Orange Gold VdF (13%; Made w/ Organic grapes; 25% Chard/15% Muscat/15% Viognier/15% GrenacheBlanc/15% Chenin/15% Roussanne) 2020: Deep golden/burnished bronze color; rather phenolic/VM/resiny some perfumed/floral/honeyed/orangey/GrandmaNina's cheap perfume slight earthy bit funky/Kansas attic/Kansas root cellar rather saline quite interesting/unusual.complex nose; soft bit tangy/metallic light VM/resiny/phenolic lightly floral/perfumed fairly saline/savory some herbal/Kansas attic/bit Kansas haymow rather strange flavor w/ slight tannic bite; fairly long rather saline/savory some VM/phenolic/resiny lightly floral/orangey/honeyed some complex finish; the VM/skin-contact character is definitely there but not dominant; doesn't reflect the aromatic varieties that are used; lots of savory character & some strange things therein but not at all unpleasant; drink in the context of a sherry or VinJaune; much more pleasant after overnight w/ much more GrandmaNina's cheap perfume character. $30.00 (SFW&S)

A wee BloodyPulpit:
1. Not sure if either of these were natural wines or not, but neither had any of that distinctive natty character. Much preferred the Bertrand.
