- 2016 John Anthony Vineyards Syrah - USA, California, Napa Valley, Oak Knoll District (12/25/2021)
From my dad’s cellar for Christmas dinner, this was dark berry and smoke, turning meatier with air. Initially I found it somewhat heavy, but over time it gained freshness and drinkability. Enjoyable wine, though sharing it with the table I didn’t get enough to seriously assess it. I would welcome another opportunity.

Another California winery I've never heard of. So many now!
My wine shopping and I have never had a problem. Just a perpetual race between the bankruptcy court and Hell.--Rogov
