Tried these two Nebbs last night:
1. Aeris BriccoRosso CentennialMtnVnyd/MendoCnty/Calif (14.5%; 50% Nebb/15% NerelloMascalese/15% Carignane/15% Primitivo/5% Barbera) RhysVnyd/Ukiah 2018: Med.light color; fairly strong floral/Nebb/lilacs/rose petal/spicy very slight pungent/tarry fairly earthy/bit loamy/rustic quite perfumed nose; quite tart/tangy/fairly acid strong Nebb/floral/lilacs very light tarry some earthy/rustic/plummy/grapey/fruit somewhat rich/lush fairly structured flavor w/some chewey tannins; very long/lingering some Nebb/floral/lilacs strong grapey/rustic/bit coarse slight black cherry cola finish w/ some rough tannins; the high-toned Nebb character is a bit beaten down/modulated by the other grapes which gives it a bit rough/rustic character; quite an interesting blend which will be interesting to see where it goes; needs 2-8 yrs yet. $59.00

2. MatteoCorreggia LaVal dei Preti Nebbiolo Dd'OCeG: Roero (14%; GiulianaImprts/Boulder) MatteoCorreggia/Canale 2010: Med.light colr w/ slight orangey browning; some alcoholic fairly strong floral/Nebb/violets/rose petal light road tar/pungent some pencilly/oak fairly classic Piemonte Nebb/high-toned some complex nose; lightly tart/tangy/metallic some Nebb/floral/rose petal/violets light tarry/pungent/road tar some toasty/pencilly/oak bit complex flavor w/ modest bitey/drying tannins; very long/lingering lightly tart/metallic fairly strong Nebb/violets/floral/rose petal light tarry/pungent/earthy bit complex finish w/ light bitey/drying tannins; some of that high-toned Nebb perfume but starting to show its age & drying out a bit; not a profound Piemonte Nebb but still pretty tasty.

A wee BloodyPulpit:
1. The folklore is that you don't add other grape varieties in a blend w/ Nebb (and Pinot Noir) and this Aeris sorta supports that folklore. The Nebb floral character was definitely there but was somewhat muted/beaten down but the other varieties and gave it a somewhat rustic character you don't usually find in pure Nebb. It just lacked the soaring Nebb perfume that you usually find in pure Nebb. That said, it was still a delicious very interesting blend. I look forward to when Kevin comes out w/ a 100% Nebb from CentennialMtn.
Actually, Steve Matthiasson has done a PinotNoir/Nebbiolo that was quite an interesting blend. Guess two wrongs make a right!!
