Had these three over the weekend w/ Susan:
1. LaSpinetta Timorasso Dd'OC: ColliTortonesi (13%; Organic grapes; GiulianaImprts/Boulder) Castagnole Laanze/Piemonte 2020: Med.gold color; strong floral/gardenias/Timo/quite spicy/bit cardamon lovely perfumed/aromatic nose; quite tart/tangy/slight metallic very strong floral/gardenias/Timo slight orangey rather spicy/cardamon slight chalky/stony/mineral fairly rich lovely flavor; very long/lingering strong floral/Timo/gardenias/spicy/cardamon fairly tart/tangy bit rich some complex finish; a lovely bright/spicy/zippy expression of Timo; much better than the rather lightweight/lean 2019; quite a good Timo at a very fair price. $26.50 (KK)

3. Foradori Fontanasanta ManzoniBianco IGT: Vigneti delle Dolomiti (12%; www.AgricolaForadori.com; Louis/DressnerImprts; Unfltrd) Mezzolombardo/Trentino 2019: Med.dark gold color rather hazy/cloudy; rather reductive/H2S/quite funky some unclean/quite natty some barnyardy/bretty/burlap bag light honeyed/pungent/herbal little MB fruit nose; lightly tart rather bretty/natty/unclean/funky/slight mousey bit metallic/tangy little fruit flavor; very long quite unclean/bretty/natty/bit mousey bit bretty/barnyardy finish; way too unclean/natty for my tastes; a rare clunker from ElisabettaForadori but another typical dog from Louis/Dressner; he has some nice/interesting wines in his portfolio but too many fails. $35.50 (KK)

A wee BloodyPulpit:
1, ManzoniBianco: This is a crossing developed by LiugiManzoni in 1935 at Conegliano between Riesling Renano X PinotBianco. Also known as Incrocio Manzoni 6.0.13. There is some suspicion that it was Chard, not PB, that made the cross. He developed a number of other crossings whilst there, but they haven't enjoyed the commercial success of the Bianco.
On the Gregoletto, I was picking up a very slight suggestion of skin-contact/VM, as also suggested by the color, but could not find anywhere on their website that there was any sort of skin-contact during fermentation.
The Foradori is frmtd in clay tinijas (of Jose Padilla in Spain) with extensive skin-contact and then aged shortly in acacia barrels. Elisabetta is a "natural" winemaker, but I've seldom found any problem w/ her wines. This MB was the first failure I can recall from her. I tasted this back in Jan when it first came into NM. It had a slight hint of natty character, but plenty of MB fruit. That seems to have gone and the wine has gone South in the btl. Whatta shame.
