- 2009 Anthill Farms Pinot Noir Tina Marie Vineyard - USA, California, Sonoma County, Russian River Valley (11/26/2021)
I have loved the story of Anthill Farms, but while I have always liked the wines, they never went further. This bottle did that. Maybe it was aging it more than typical for Cali Pinot, but whatever it was I was bowled over from first sip. Still fruity (very!) yet also showing a deeper complexity, with aromas and flavors that were actually not easy to categorize. That’s the bonus, where the wine is beyond being picked apart, and just presents itself as a complete entity. This feels like it could go on for a very long time, aging on its balance, and depth of fruit. Delicious.
