- 2019 Dönnhoff Norheimer Kirschheck Riesling Spätlese - Germany, Nahe (11/23/2021)
Laura said “I want some Riesling tonight” which means one thing. Grab a Dönnhoff Kirschheck from the cellar. The 2019 needs some air (starting to close down?), but after it’s open for an hour it is firing on all cylinders. Vivid acidity, fresh peach and cherry fruit (typical Kirschheck), and a sparkling finish that first highlights the Spätlese sweetness then the acidity washes it away. Brilliant!
