Ghost Horse Vineyard Spectre Cabernet???

by Jenise » Wed Nov 10, 2021 7:01 pm

Never heard of it until this tidbit dropped in an email from Winebid: Bidding for a 2007 Ghost Horse Vineyard Spectre Cabernet Sauvignon started at $4,500 last week, and before Overtime Bidding started it was already bid up to $7,100. The bidding continued into Overtime Bidding for another 16 bids for a final hammer of $14,600!

Of course, nothing's worth that. But in case any of you are holding this wine, you might want to rethink your plans for it!
My wine shopping and I have never had a problem. Just a perpetual race between the bankruptcy court and Hell.--Rogov

Ghost Horse is essentially a joke vanity project. The joke is that the winemaker has gotten people to fall for it.

It looks like the new Winebid bidding system is working extremely well for the sellers! Cult wines like this are definitely Veblen goods...
