  • 2019 Bedrock Wine Co. Areio e Vento e Amor Evangelho Vineyard - USA, California, San Francisco Bay, Contra Costa County (11/9/2021)
Tasted over two evenings, this is the essence of Evangelho, reduced to a concentrate. Every element of the wine is more intense, from the inherently sappy fruit, to the bracing finishing acidity. That concentration makes itself even more evident on the finish, which carries on like David Crosby in his prime, pouring out his heart on Almost Cut My Hair. The sweetness and bitterness blend into harmony, and after a deafening crescendo a gentle descent into silence that echoes like a dream.

Thanks for a timely post given the Bedrock Release. David/Others, I am thinking of wishing for either:

2020 Evangelho Vineyard ‘Areio e Vento e Amor,’ Contra Costa County
or:
2018 Montecillo Old Vine Cabernet Sauvignon, Moon Mountain District

Trying to keep order modest, but both of the above are tempting. Recommendations?

The Evangelho. I have stopped buying Bedrock Cabs as they don’t taste all that different from Bedrock Zins. I love Bedrock wines, but they have a clear signature.
