WTN: Costco's XO Cognac

by Jenise » Wed Oct 06, 2021 3:45 pm

So last night I brought this brand new bottle of Kirkland Cognac to the table to show one of the couples who's in our booze group. The next time I host, cognac and all it's friends will be the topic. Well, next thing you know the lid's off and we're passing snifters around.

There's less than half a bottle left.

I've never been much of a brandy drinker but this could change everything. I LOVED IT. $71 and well worth it. And not just IMO, but this has apparently earned a lot of positive attention in the cognac world. From 100% ugni blanc grapes, aged 12-21 years, and the producer is believed to be Peyrat.

My wine shopping and I have never had a problem. Just a perpetual race between the bankruptcy court and Hell.--Rogov

I've been getting into spirits over the past few years and my first gateway spirit was Cognac. It seems like an easy transition for wine lovers because it's also made from grapes, and therefore shares many properties with what we know.

Sounds like a good deal and it sounds like it may actually be an artisanal product despite the Costco name. Although if you do get interested and want to go further, you should have no problem finding other good artisanal options in that price range.
