WTN: Dom. Vougeraie Vougeot Clos du Prieure Monopole 2011

Lockdown Wine #119. Very nice, fruity strawberry nose coming off this. Without food, too much acidity. Sour cherry and strawberry. Much better with food. Needs a little time to open up and flesh out - 20 minute should be fine. Surprised that I finished half the bottle with dinner. Looks like I enjoyed it a lot more while eating. Probably as good as it's going to get. Drink up if you have it.

2011 is an odd duck of a vintage.

I have a few 11's, and what you write about this wine pretty much applies to all of them.

Certainly seems like most are early maturing. Some reports of greenie-meanies, I've had a couple with light signs, but nothing severe.I think most i'll drink up on weekdays over next couple years.
