Lockdown Wine #116. Decanted 5 hours. Pretty dark reddish bronze. Expressive nose. Brown sugar, molasses, floor wax, varnish (some volatility?), a very faint mustiness, caramel, raisins, - just goes on and on. Acidity gives it a lightness on the palate. Plenty of sweet spice - cinnamon and nutmeg. Christmas pudding and fruitcake. More raisins and brown sugar. Candied orange peel, coffee, candied pineapple. Something new every time you sip. Fantastic length. Finishes with a little honey bitterness. Not at all tiring to drink. Again, the acidity gives this a real freshness. Beautiful wine.
Three be the things I shall never attain:
Envy, content, and sufficient champagne.
