Lockdown Wine #114. It's been years since I've had a Bosconia. These went on sale so I got a couple.
Garnet around the edge, but a rather dark core. Meat and wood spices up front. Underneath that, a lactic note and red fruit aromas. Balsamic and a slight volatility as well.
Medium+ weight. Very dry, but after an hour, there seems to be some ripe fruit coming out. Strawberry, raspberry, and a woody note throughout. Still a touch of tannin, but it's really the acid that gives it structure. Dried herbs, black olives, lightly roasted coffee. Good length.
No need for further ageing. Good to go straight from the bottle. Not a style for everyone, but I rather liked it.
