Saying goodbye with a Nuits St Georges.

One of the employees is leaving my fave store downtown so one of the generous co-owners brought in a lovely 2009 Burgundy. I happened to be in the right place at the right time!

2009 Nuits St Georges Clos de l`Arlot Domaine de l`Arlot.

Pale color throughout. Red cherry, strawberry, spice nose. Very ripe tannins, lovely balance and integration. Bramble and redcurrant as it sat in the glass. Nice richness, this wine in a right place now.

Is this producer well regarded?

...noted 2 new white wines in the store 1) 2019 Iris Pinot Gris Ore. 2) 2019 Vidiano Lyrarakis Crete.

Yes, indeed! And FWIW Domaine de l'Arlot is a *** producer (the maximum) in the RVF's 2021 guide. It is owned by AXA Millésimes, part of the insurance group.

I don't think I have ever had any and probably never will as I note that the price of the 2018 version of this cru is c.€100/bottle  .

There is also a Domaine Arlaud centred on Morey-Saint-Denis which is ranked **.

Nice sendoff for your co-worker, Bob.

Bob, no, as I haven't had anything from that producer.
