- 2014 Dirler-Cade Riesling Kessler Heisse Wanne - France, Alsace, Alsace Grand Cru (8/9/2021)
DRY Alsatian Riesling! I pulled the cork not really knowing what I might get, and I got DRY Riesling! I won’t worry about whether it has 1, 2 or 3 grams of residual sugar in there. It tastes dry!
Beyond that it’s old school. Pear, nectarine and a bit of that Riesling “petrol” come through on the nose and palate. Medium plus body, and a wafting, persistent finish grab and hold my attention. This is engaging stuff. Alsace gets largely ignored in the current Riesling wave (eddy?), but there are still delicious wines waiting for eager enthusiasts.
Ride across the river to the other side.

Sounds like my kind of riesling!
My wine shopping and I have never had a problem. Just a perpetual race between the bankruptcy court and Hell.--Rogov
