  • 2016 Goodfellow Family Cellars Chardonnay Durant Vineyard - USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley, Dundee Hills (8/6/2021)
Last minute replacement for a corked bottle from another producer, so it was pop and pour with no other option. No worries, as this was firing on all cylinders from the get go. Quince and lime fruit is backed by a firm, mineral core, and there’s a dash of buttery richness on the finish, wrapped up with a little hit of spice. A whiff of matchstick reduction is present on the nose, and also shows up in the mid-palate, but it’s an accent, not a dominant feature. Just barely into medium-bodied, there’s real refreshment value, and the wine compels each sip.

Sounds wonderful. I have one more Goodfellow chardonnay, I'll wait on it. Got lucky, I asked a local seller if they had any Goodfellows and he said no but had just noticed that they were being closed out by a local distrib who was cutting wayback trying to stay alive in the Pandemic. Wasn't much left at that point but I got a few for pennies over wholesale.
My wine shopping and I have never had a problem. Just a perpetual race between the bankruptcy court and Hell.--Rogov
