Fun with Freisa. Ripe red fruit is held in check by firm tannins. It almost feels like a Dolcetto, but the tannins are not that drying. There’s good mid-palate depth, then the tannins clamp down. Pizza calmed the tannins a bit. Seems like more air or more time. Good first try with this grape. Interested to see how Sam does with it over a few vintages.
