- 2018 Elyse Cabernet Sauvignon Holbrook Mitchell Vineyard - USA, California, Napa Valley, Yountville (7/17/2021)
Four hour decant after a quick check for cork. Mint, cassis, vanilla infused kirsch, and a background savory, woodsy note kept me coming back for another sniff, another sip, as I was trying to work through the aromas and parse the flavors. Eventually I gave up, and enjoyed the wine. It was rich, but not over the top. I thought it was going to crest that wave, but it never did.
Yet another Elyse bottling that punches above its price point.
