Finally, after an almost 2 year break, my beloved park concerts by Hudson returned. Marion Cumings and a nice band, evening breeze off river made a scorching day fairly comfortable, and we shared food (pork chops, baba ganoush, potato salad, shrimp, and more) and wine with friends
2004 Pepiere Briords Muscadet
Still lively, saline/seashell, tangy citrus fruit, long and complex. A-
NV Azimut Rosado Cava
Light, dry, crisp, sprightly. B
2020 Muri-Gries Lagrien Rosato
Juicy, ripe red cherry and plum, needs a bit more verve for me. B-/C+

2020 Baudry Chinon Rose

Herby red fruits, good acids, bigger than usual B

Great to be with friends by the river once more

Thursday was a sucky day, as a pre-Elsa microburst dumped a ton of water on Dobbs Ferry, Main St became a river than came over sidewalk and eventually into my office. After several hours cleanup I only had energy for leftovers (pork chops, potato salad, farro)

2019 Alzinger Loibenberg Smaragd Gruner Veltliner

Very GV with white pepper and green pea over a ripe pear and citrus base. Firm, full, and fun. B+/B

Grade disclaimer: I'm a very easy grader, basically A is an excellent wine, B a good wine, C
drinkable. Anything below C means I wouldn't drink at a party where it was only choice.Furthermore, I offer no promises of objectivity, accuracy, and certainly not of consistency.

Going to be good getting back to things that we used to do when life was "normal." My first post-COVID concert is in late August.

What seems like a billion years ago, Nigl and Alzinger were the first gruners I fell in love with. Yours sounds heavenly.
My wine shopping and I have never had a problem. Just a perpetual race between the bankruptcy court and Hell.--Rogov
