- 2011 Willi Schaefer Graacher Domprobst Riesling Kabinett #16 - Germany, Mosel Saar Ruwer (7/8/2021)
It’s easy to write off wines with vintage generalizations. 2011 was flabby! There’s no real Kabinett in 2011!
Then it’s time to actually open a bottle. Ten years out from the vintage, and this is getting to a lovely spot. It’s still full of youthful energy (thank you screw cap), but it has also slimmed down to show the bones, the structure that forms the underpinnings of the fruit. There’s probably 15-20 more years to go here, but I am glad I did not miss this showing. It even more inviting than it was a year ago.

I've got a case of '11 GH Kab in my offsite, they don't list AP, but my CT records indicate it's #3. Hope it is similar.
