How cold in wine country?

This year is the third time in the 23 that I've been living here that ice has formed on Keuka Lake from north to south.

I'm going tonight to see a free showing of Al Gore's documentary. I hope the church has heat...

Thomas, while I doubt global warming had anything to do with your lake, unusual cold is right in line with the predicted effects of global warming.
I hope you enjoyed the movie - it is hard to ignore the measurements of manmade CO2: up higher every year with a little dip in the summer when the trees are out then up even higher.
With just a few degrees difference, Napa won't be known for Cabernet any more.

I think the movie was done quite well, and that Gore did a decent job at making the case.

As to Keuka Lake, after weeks of truly Greenland-like weather (and I know, I spent a year in Greenland) today we hit 50 degree F.

As an aside, I have a Honda hybrid. On the hottest day of last summer it would not start--on the coldest day this winter it would not start. I guess that's one way to reduce emissions...
