WTN: Cantina Band (reprise)

  • 2015 Cantina dei Produttori Nebbiolo di Carema Carema Riserva - Italy, Piedmont, Northern Piedmont, Carema (7/2/2021)
Ripe cherry fruit, a vase of freshly cut flowers, and a background note of spiced licorice - this is a lovely wine. Light bodied yet deep, elegant yet assertive, the overall impression is of a wine that knows what it is, and is proud of it. The color would lead a Nebbiolo neophyte to think it was dilute, but there’s wonderful presence. Drink now with a significant decant, or let it slumber. It has the elements to evolve.

Mouthwatering TN. I'd like to know better northern Piedmontese appellations like Gattinara and Carema.

I am only starting to know them. It’s lighter styled Nebbiolo (though Ferrando is closer to B&B) but still has lovely aromatics.
