WTN: Muscadet, Champagne, Provencal rose

Scorching Monday, eating inside with scallops and tomatoes over pasta, wine was the 2019 Pepiere Les Gras Moutons Muscadet. A bit rounder this year, but still a nice bracing acidity. Rich white fruits, wet stones, hint of nuts. Quite long. B++

No wine Tuesday with chicken biscuits with hot honey butter.

Wednesday I was supposed to be at a Cab Franc tasting in NYC, but day before we looked at forecast and thought “do we really want to taste 13 reds in 98 degree heat.” Tasting postponed, so Betsy invited some friends and their dog to join us.

Shrimp and avocado with a lime dressing
NV Lilbert Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs Cramant (disgorged summer 2018, 50% 2016, 50% reserve)
Elegant, precise, balanced, delicious. B+/A-

Then build your own tacos with the 2020 AIX Coteaux d'Aix-en-Provence Rose. Others liked, light strawberry fruit, straightforward and simple with nothing really on finish. B-/C+

Grade disclaimer: I'm a very easy grader, basically A is an excellent wine, B a good wine, C
drinkable. Anything below C means I wouldn't drink at a party where it was only choice.Furthermore, I offer no promises of objectivity, accuracy, and certainly not of consistency.
