WTN: 1st Provencal rose of the year

by Dale Williams » Thu Jun 17, 2021 2:52 pm

With green puttanesca (green garlic, scallions, arugula, choy sum, anchovies, pepper flakes) the 2020 Commanderie de Peyrassol Rose (Cotes de Provence). Light and refreshing, bright strawberry and honeydew, fennel pollen. B/B+

Grade disclaimer: I'm a very easy grader, basically A is an excellent wine, B a good wine, C
drinkable. Anything below C means I wouldn't drink at a party where it was only choice.Furthermore, I offer no promises of objectivity, accuracy, and certainly not of consistency.

Always enjoy that wine, it's good every year. Speaking of Provencal roses my first of the year recently was the 2020 Miraval--best version of that wine ever. Truly exceptional. But pricey--high $20's now I think.
My wine shopping and I have never had a problem. Just a perpetual race between the bankruptcy court and Hell.--Rogov
