WTN: Philippe Pacalet Gevrey-Chambertin 2015

Lockdown Wine #102. Fairly deep color for Burg. Very expressive red fruited nose. Sweet, ripe raspberry, red cherry, and strawberry up front. Dig a little deeper for an earthy/cocoa character to come out. Initially pretty mute, it takes about an hour and a half for the palate to develop. Lovely sweet ripe fruit on the palate as well, but tending towards black cherry and plum, although the strawberry is still there. There is a minor note of charred wood or ash that comes out every now and then. Already quite soft, but I think still has some room to develop since it's all fruit up front and takes a bit of air to express itself. Medium + body. Good length which ends with a fresh acidity as the last thing you taste. Very good now, but with potential to improve, I think.

Yup. But I think we will be transitioning to "General Community Quarantine" soon. Which still means major restrictions in place, though a bit less stringent. Manila cases are down quite a bit. It's the cases outside Manila that are worrying now.
