After 2 years of pondering I opened a 2016 Vieux Telegraphe with St. Louis ribs. Not as open as I thought and maybe pretty much closed down. Given 3 hrs. of decant and the nose was mostly nothing. The palate was floral (violets?) and some vague black fruit and weird barnyard/dusty note but pretty disjointed. I have had the 2016 Pegau and it was WAY more open for enjoying.
Now my question. I will be going to a dinner this summer and the host is a Bordeaux lover. Here is what I could bring and which one is most open with some (considerable) decant time. My 1986 Gruaud Larose is off the list, only have 2 left.
2016 Pavie Decesse
2017 Pavie Macquin
2015 Troplong Mondot
2015 Monbousquet
2015 Malarctic Lagraviere
2000 Clos de Sarpe
2000Calon Segur
I also have some 2016 Ch Poesia which is nice but not real special
any opinions?
