A wee BloodyPulpit:
1. Solminer is the LosOlivos wnry of David & Anna DeLaski. With a background in making wines in Austria, their focus is on making Austrian-style wines.
They also focus on making wines of lower alcohol. Too much to my tastes. The wines often come across as lean/restrained/quiet. I'm often left with wanting a bit more oomph in their whites, a bit more impact on the palate. This GV was a bit too much on the vapid side for my tastes. That said, I find that their whites do have a tendency to put on weight w/ age. Their reds (Blaufrankisch/StLaurent) I find are much more to my taste and show a lot of Burgenland character.
