Lockdown Wine #100. To give the full name, Jerome Galeyrand Côte de Nuits Villages Comblanchien "Les Retraits" 2018. Proper Pinot Noir color. Red/violet. Expressive nose. Fresh herb, pepper, wood spice, at first deep and earthy, and then giving way to ripe red and black berries after about 30 minutes in the glass. Rich and juicy. Black olive plus everything else on the nose except for the pepper. The earthiness was there, but it would come and go. Soft and seamless. Really lovely stuff. Dryish but not harsh or astringent. If I were to nit pick, I would have preferred a bit more length, but that's not really a big deal.
Only 3 years old but a really delicious drink now. Has the stuffing to age, but hard to keep your hands off this the way it's drinking at the moment. Excellent.
