Tasting Fees

Not surprised. We wouldn't go to Napa nor Sonoma if traveling over the next few years. Buying a few value-oriented wines from either area, sure. They do pop up once in a while at our LWS.

Paso, maybe. Central Coast areas, maybe. OR and WA, would be nice to get up that way.

Very interesting article. Had no idea that tasting fees in Napa were that high now. I remember when Sinsky started charging $25 and everybody was shocked. I wasn't really, considering the number of bridal parties and other nonserious wine tourism that landed all sorts of undesirables at their portals, but I was shocked that they didn't forgive one red cent of that against purchases.
My wine shopping and I have never had a problem. Just a perpetual race between the bankruptcy court and Hell.--Rogov
