WTN: '11 Billards St Amour

by Dale Williams » Thu May 27, 2021 3:21 pm

Needed a quick and simple dinner- broiled HMart marinated chicken thighs, sourdough discard scallion pancakes, sesame spinach, salad. Wine was the regular 2011 Domaine des Billards St Amour. Bright red fruits, garden herbs, crunchy minerally finish. ‘11 are indeed in a nice place right now..B+

Grade disclaimer: I'm a very easy grader, basically A is an excellent wine, B a good wine, C
drinkable. Anything below C means I wouldn't drink at a party where it was only choice.Furthermore, I offer no promises of objectivity, accuracy, and certainly not of consistency.

St. Amour is a much more affordable option for anniversaries or Valentines Day than Calon Segur (or any Amoureuses!). :)

A few years ago my friend Cathleen hosted Xavier Barbet (Billards) for a dinner with a long vertical of his wines. Final flight was 1969,
1967, & 1976 . Totally delicious, drinking great.
