- 2019 Hofgut Falkenstein Niedermenniger Herrenberg Riesling Spätlese feinherb "Palm" #3 - Germany, Mosel Saar Ruwer (5/21/2021)
Immediately after opening I poured a half glass. It was tight. There was an astringent grip, as if a turbocharged Sweet-Tart had been dissolved in the wine. I put it aside for 90 minutes while getting ready for dinner. Returning to it with dinner, the astringency had backed off, the fruit came into focus, and sweetness/acid balance was on point. It’s all good, but this doesn’t have the energy or seamless form of the AP#4 “Onkel Peter.” Still happy to drink it!
