1. LaBasia Marzemino IGT: Benaco Bresciano "LaMorene" (12.5%: Frmtd in SS tank) Puegnago del Garda 2017: Dark color; very strong strawberry/alpine strawberry bright Marz/cherry blossom floral/violets bit earthy/dusty pretty classic Marz/bit Nebb-like nose; some tart/tangy bright floral/strawberry/Marz bit black cherry some earthy/dusty very attractive flavor w/ modest tangy tannins; very long/lingering bright strawberry/Marz/floral/violets some earthy/dusty quite attractive finish w/ light hard tannins; loads of bright Marz strawberry fruit w/ a bit earthy & hard tannins. $20.00 (K-L)

2. deTarczal Marzemino d'Isera DOC: TrentinoSuperiore (12.5%; SmallVnyds/Seattle) Marano d'Isera/Trentino 2013: Dark color w/ slight bricking; rather subdued rather earthy/dusty lightly floral/cherry/black cherry/strawberry/Marz slight tarry/Nebb-like bit complex nose; lightly tart strong earthy/dusty/bit loamy light strawberry/Marz/black cherry bit tired flavor w/ light hard/tangy tannins; long bit tart some hard/tannic light black cherry/Marz fairly earthy/dusty/loam,y finish w/ light grippy tannins; lost a lot of that bright Marz fruit & starting to turn the corner. $18.00 (CB)

A wee BloodyPulpit:
1. Marzemino is, of course, famous for being Mozart's favorite wine. That said, it is actually a very good/aromatic grape. I think it is mostly trying to be made as a serious/ageable red. I think its best calling, though, is to be made more as a glou-glou wine. Or, perhaps, more to resemble the G.D.Vajara JC Cuvee Langhe Nebb. Rather than like a B/B.
