With roast chicken last night:

2009 Louis Jadot Beaune 1er Cru Celebration Pinot Noir
Needed about an hour for the scant fruit to emerge, but overall more developed and less ripe than some other bottles have shown in the past (lots of variation). Still, zero sediment, quite pleasant in the 2nd hour, better with food than without, and might have benefitted from a longer decant.

I only have this in magnum, so I don't often have reason to open one. That said, thanks for the note. What I do find silly is that Jadot now makes this cuvee in most vintages. Kind of takes the special away. Had the 2012 version a couple of weeks ago that had good material, but was rather tight.

Not inappropriate at all, Richard. Those are all good producers, though I'm not really a Bouchard fan. Have had many decent reds from them but no WOW moments.

The Beaune du Chateau has always been a good value wine (less so now that all Burgundy is more expensive). The Drouhin Chorey-les-Beaune is as well.
