WTN: Ricasoli Brolio Gran Selezioni Chianti Classico 2015

Lockdown Wine #94. Middle Eastern spices, dried herb, dried fruit. A little hot (14% abv). Medium-bodied, acidity on the high side but not really a problem with some food. Soft tannins but very restrained flavours. Seems to be at an awkward stage now. Maybe better to leave alone for 2 or 3 years. Not bad, but was expecting more. It is pretty young, though, so time should help.

2015 has not been my favorite Tuscan vintage. It’s not bad, but seems a little uninspired.

Jay, we had the '15 Colledila side by side with the '16 Roncicone about 9-10 months ago. The '15 showed extremely well at that time where the '16 was mostly about potential. Both reminded us how great a producer Ricasoli is--not something we see here often.

I also have the "16 of this and the Colledila. I have high hopes for both but will try to give them a bit more time.
