WTN: Carign Anne

  • 2017 Tercero Carignane - USA, California, Central Coast, Santa Barbara County (4/28/2021)
Remarkably similar to a tasting sample I had several weeks ago, this showed a clear aroma of unlit pipe tobacco, as well as an earthy core, and crunchy red fruit. I loved it when I had the chance to try it during Larry’s Zoom tasting, and I still love it now. I have tried a number of California Carignan bottlings over the last few years, and this stands as my favorite to date.

That's cool. Like most, I've had very few single-varietal carignanes. And none really impressed, even ones from France. I don't even have a sense of what it's supposed to taste like.
My wine shopping and I have never had a problem. Just a perpetual race between the bankruptcy court and Hell.--Rogov
