This producer came up in another thread and reminded me that I had a half case of their top blended Bordeaux style wine sitting in the cellar. I decided I'd better check up on it.

Still quite dark, with a nose of cab and wood! The strong tannins I recall have mellowed out and there were some tobacco and cedar in the nose. It is a big wine with concentrated flavours with some pepper and a medium length finish.

This wine resembles a certain style of California cab so much that I daresay it would pass as a blind ringer in that company. It is typical of many of the cabs from the Simonsberg-Stellenbosch area. It has only 14% alcohol, which might make it stand out a bit.

One of my favourite wineries. I opened the last of my 2001s in 2010. Glad it's showing so well after 20 years.

I've currently got 2017 but I'll be drinking them before 20 years have passed.
