What do Chateaux Lafite and Latour have in common with undistinguished Cru Bourgeois ?
They are both in the third category given by the Italian professor of oenology when he said : "There are three types of wine: good, bad, would drink it if someone else paid for it." Richard L

Sadly many wines I used to buy have fallen into that third category due to price.

Dave, I also have that problem. We had a friend , now unfortunately departed, who used to give fabulous dinners for her friends with great French wines and such California wines as Sea Smoke Pinot Noir. The last is definitely in the third category for me. Richard L
