A wee BloodyPulpit:
1. GV: Mike has been a big fan of Gruner and was one of the first to make GV in Calif. To my taste, his has always been the best of them. This one, fresh off the boat, didn't seem as intense/rich/Smaargd-level as some in the past, but I suspect it will put on weight over the next few months and evolve into another outstanding Carlisle GV.

2. Syrah: Though not a profound Calif Syrah, this was an absolutely delicious Calif Syrah at a great price. Fortunately, my group backed up the truck on this wine. Should improve some over the next few yrs.
